This week’s job of the week is a GIS Analyst (#626638) for MSU’s Information Technology Services, specifically for the IT Services Analytics and Data Solutions department. This position is seeking an individual with experience with typical mapping and GIS applications to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the spatial data infrastructure.

The responsibilities for this role include assisting users to troubleshoot and resolve problems with spatial systems, preparing related documentation, and maintaining and validating the data integrity and accuracy of the spatial data infrastructure. Additional responsibilities for this role include participating in the development of long-range planning goals, monitoring the spatial data framework and systems, and producing, developing, and delivering map products and related documents as requested.

The ideal candidate would possess knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related Information Technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) including a good working knowledge of geographic information management and spatial data standards, experience with GIS software and analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job of the Week – Finance Assistant

This week’s job of the week is a Finance Assistant (#625730) for Performing Arts Facilities and Programs. This position is seeking an individual to assist the Director of Finance with daily actions to ensure compliance with the Wharton Center policy and procedures.

The responsibilities for this role include assisting with accounting and payroll responsibilities such as temp/on-call payroll processing, sales revenue deposits, processing accounts payable and receivable, and auditing payroll transactions. Additional responsibilities of this role include organizing monthly packets, printing financial reports for supervisor review, and initiating and processing travel reimbursements and internal billings.

The ideal candidate would possess knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through a high school education; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, records maintenance and/or experience in spreadsheet, word processing, and/or database software. Job of the Week – Office Supervisor II

This week’s job of the week is an Office Supervisor II (#623878) for the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. This position is seeking an individual with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to serve as the Clerkship Supervisor for the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The responsibilities for this role include assisting in developing the operational and administrative functions of the program, communicating daily with students and training hospitals, and problem-solving to troubleshoot program consequences.
