This week, we are featuring a posting from MSU Information Technology Services for an Assistant Director/Deputy CISO (posting 855234). MSU IT provides the primary leadership for strategic, financial, and policy initiatives affecting information technology (IT) across MSU.
This position will work within the MSU Information Security Department which manages risks to information systems, responds to incidents, and takes proactive measures to ensure compliance and security throughout the university. The Deputy CISO is responsible for assisting the CISO with the management of relevant information security operations within the MSU IT organization. This includes strategy, personnel, security infrastructure, incident response, policy enforcement, emergency planning, and security awareness. . The future Deputy CISO should have knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree and more than eight years of related and progressively more responsible work experience. Experience leading, managing, and maintaining a Security Operations Center (SOC) function is desired.
This is a hybrid remote position with some on-site presence necessary, and the successful candidate will be expected to live within commuting distance from MSU’s East Lansing campus.
