Did you know that National Bosses Day was Sunday, October 16? In honor of Bosses Day, the Family Resource Center (FRC) acknowledged four outstanding supervisors at MSU by presenting them with the 2011 Outstanding Supervisor Award! The Outstanding Supervisor Award was established by FRC in 2001 to draw attention to MSU supervisors who are highly regarded by their employees for their consistent support of the work/life  needs of their employees. Job Posting of the Week! 10/20/11

This week we’re highlighting a Research Administrator I position in Teacher Education (Posting #5343). Some of the job duties for this position include reviewing, analyzing, collecting and compiling academic personnel and financial information, reports, and recommendations used for organizational budgeting, financial planning, and administrative decision making for a large academic and research department with an annual general fund budget of approximately $8 million. Post award duties including collecting, compiling and interpreting information, as well as monitoring fiscal activities and providing monthly reconciliation for federal, state and foundation funded grants in accordance with organizational policies and administrative decisions, as well as legislative regulations prescribed by law.

This interactive map displays walking loops/routes on virtually every corner of campus. The map lists the distance of each loop so you know which will fit into your schedule, along with campus art features and emergency phones. If you want a copy for your desk, they offer a printable PDF version. Get Ready to Glow Green!

This year, Spartans from near and far are being asked to “glow” green for Homecoming week! MSU’s Homecoming will take place October 17-22. This year’s theme is “Glow Green, Go White”and the university is hoping to start a new tradition, which calls for Spartans to switch out their porch or house lights to green ones during homecoming week.

While supplies last, the MSU Alumni Association is giving out free green light bulbs. The bulbs will be available for faculty, staff, alumni and fans during normal business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) at the MSU Alumni Association, located in the stadium tower. After the football game against Michigan on October 15, free bulbs will be available to alumni and fans at the MSU Alumni Association tent, north of the stadium.
