It’s another Fun Friday and we think it’s fun to be “in the know” about all the wonderful things going on at Michigan State University! The problem is, MSU is BIG, and there is so much going on in so many places that keeping up with it all can seem impossible. More and more savvy Spartans are taking advantage of social media tools to stay up-to-date on all things MSU. Many MSU colleges, units, departments, groups, courses, coaches, teams and individuals make interesting MSU-related information available to all through Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in, You-Tube, Flickr and Slideshare. And best of all, there is one easy site where you can browse through a list of more than 250 MSU-related social media offerings:

The next time you find yourself bored on a weekend with nothing to do, how about some good old-fashioned fun with a bowling night out at the MSU Union? Right in the basement of the south wing of the MSU Union is Spartan Lanes, a 16-lane bowling alley with a classic, fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Also, right next to the bowling alley in the Union basement is UCue Billards, with open billiards and 8 championship pocket tables.

As we were preparing for this year’s Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment, our piggy bank mascot disappeared! We caught sight of him in several places on campus. We hope you can help us find him!
Visit this link to enter our “Where’s the FSA Pig?” contest! There are seven photos, and you need to guess where the piggy bank is in each of these photos taken on MSU’s campus. The first person to guess all the photos correctly by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 28 will win an FSA piggy bank. If nobody guesses all locations correctly, the winner will be the first person to get the most locations right by Friday, October 28. We’re also holding this contest on Facebook and Twitter. This year, Spartans from near and far are being asked to “glow” green for Homecoming week! MSU’s Homecoming will take place October 17-22. This year’s theme is “Glow Green, Go White”and the university is hoping to start a new tradition, which calls for Spartans to switch out their porch or house lights to green ones during homecoming week.
While supplies last, the MSU Alumni Association is giving out free green light bulbs. The bulbs will be available for faculty, staff, alumni and fans during normal business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) at the MSU Alumni Association, located in the stadium tower. After the football game against Michigan on October 15, free bulbs will be available to alumni and fans at the MSU Alumni Association tent, north of the stadium.
