This weekās job of the week is a University Academic Event Coordinator (#506338) for the College of Arts and Letters. This position is seeking an individual to help develop impacting and engaging events to showcase work to different audiences like alumni, students, faculty and the MSU community. The Event Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing events in the Deanās and Advancement Offices and will work as a liaison and collaborator with other departments, programs, centers and university partners.
The ideal candidate would possess knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree in Business, Communications Arts, Liberal Arts or a related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in event coordination, public relations, budget procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities for this role include managing logistics, coordination, and execution of college programs and events; developing agendas, drafting both digital and print promotional materials, setting dates and coordinating speakers, managing logistics support of special events. The Event Manager would also promote surveys and evaluate responses to improve and enhance future programs, and collect and gather information from stakeholders like graphics, photos, messaging, and media for presentations/remarks.
