This week we are highlighting a Farm Manager I (posting #452506) with theĀ College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. This position will manage the daily operation and maintenance of Sheep Teaching & Research Center to facilitate the teaching, research and extension missions of the Animal Science Department and maintains active communication with the South Campus Farms Coordinator, Sheep Farm Faculty Coordinator and Animal Science Chair. Additionally, this position will manage the daily care of a highly productive sheep flock including execution of the breeding, health and nutrition programs; coordinate flock health program with the MSU farms veterinarian and farm faculty coordinator; maintain and evaluate flock health, breeding and productivity records; develop a feed budget in coordination with the faculty coordinator and south campus farms general manager and manage feed inventories; manage costs and prepare reports on farm finances; and manage staff and student employees including interviewing, hiring, evaluations, scheduling and resolving grievances and complaints.
