This week we are highlighting a Senior Assistant Manager/Analyst in the Controller’s Financial & Cost Analysis Office (Posting #8921). This Position works for the Office of Financial and Cost Analysis in the Controller’s Office as a Senior Financial/Cost Analyst. In coordination with the Office of Contracts and Grant Administration, this position will perform financial accounting analysis in order to provide financial statements and managerial reports; assist in the coordination of the university’s annual external audit, including the audit of federal awards under Federal OMB Circular A-133; perform cost analysis to determine institutional overhead rates for assessing departments and federal grants in compliance with Federal OMB Circular A-21; provide departmental assistance and oversight for developing service center billing rates for internal and external customers; develop and propose university accounting policies/procedures for consideration of executive management; assist in reviewing and processing financial system transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies/procedures and generally accepted accounting procedures.

This week we are highlighting a Development Officer II/S position with University Advancement (Posting #8894). This position will serve as Associate Director of Development, College of Human Medicine, and will play a critical role in helping the College achieve its current and future raising goals; reporting directly to the Senior Director of Development; will be responsible for helping to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive major gifts program ($100,000+) to fully develop potential cash and deferred gifts for the benefit of the College; will work closely with the dean, associate deans, department chairs and key volunteers to identify funding opportunities and advise on effective development techniques including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of the College’s prospects; will assume a leadership role in developing the case for support, developing funding priorities, identifying prospects and building a strong volunteer base in anticipation of MSU’s next capital campaign; will assume fund raising leadership across multiple geographic territories as well as provide fund raising leadership for several departments within the College; will directly supervise one or more College of Human Medicine Advancement staff; will manage a portfolio of 100- 150 special and major gift prospects; will employ an aggressive, strategic moves management program, averaging 11-15 significant personal visits and 2-4 solicitations per month; approximately 30% of time will be devoted to out-of-state travel in order to maximize the fundraising program for the College of Human Medicine.
