This week we are highlighting a Project/Event Coordinator with College of Music (Posting #9185). This position represents the College of Music Jazz Program through extensive contact with the public; manages and coordinates all College of Music jazz concert/event activities including room/concert venues, programs, lighting, sound, transportation of guest artists, etc. – this will include the following events and concerts: Detroit International Jazz Festival, MSUFCU tours, Jazzy Little Christmas concert, Martin Luther King Day concert, Jazz Spectacular Event, Jazz band and Octet concerts, summer jazz camp, as well as one national or international tour per year; oversees jazz event sound reinforcement; functions as road manager for the MSUFCU tours, including travel with the tour group; coordinates and manages details for roughly 12-16 jazz program studies trips per year, including tasks such as making transportation and lodging arrangements, obtaining travel authorizations, and other related tasks as assigned; coordinates and oversees publicity for jazz activities; manages the jazz area calendar; and requires international travel.
