There are two sites: one for current MSU employees seeking additional opportunities internally and another for external applicants. Prospective, external applicants will visit the external careers.msu.edu website for job postings, and current MSU employees should visit the internal site via the “Careers @ MSU” tile in the EBS Portal.

As you adjust to this new system, remember that there are many resources available to help. We’ve highlighted a few in this post to get you started!

For both internal and external applicants, there is a tip sheet which details the features of the new system. Additionally, there are tip sheets to walk you through the process of setting up a job alert. External applicants can find that information here and internal applicants can find it here.

This position serves as an ambassador for the department, division and university by promoting the residential student experience. Job of the Week 5/12/17

This week we are highlighting a Graphic Artist II (posting #436254) with the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Reporting to the senior communications director, the graphic artist will work in close collaboration with college leadership and communications managers to design for a variety of projects including but not limited to websites, e-mail templates, digital and social media outlets, print needs, environmental graphics and presentations that support the college’s overall mission, goals and communications strategies. This position requires the designer to manage at least one student and the ability to lead and delegate in an appropriate and effective way. The position will also be responsible for aggregating and managing digital assets from faculty and students across the college to use in promotion. Knowledge of photo retouching and designing for the web will also be required.

The Assistant Controller provides leadership over the creation, amendment and compliance structure of timely, user-friendly and value-added university business policies and procedures. This position will conduct employment investigations; collect information, analyze data and write reports summarizing findings; advise unit administrators on human resources actions and ensure that RHS units are in compliance with MSU and RHS policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements; represent and participate in RHS grievances, arbitrations and other related labor hearings; assist in the development of personnel policies and procedures for the department; serve as representation for the unit and attend meetings and disseminate information to department staff; conduct human resources training for department staff; and establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all department and university stakeholders.

New Careers @ MSU Job Posting Websites!

Are you an MSU employee looking for additional opportunities internally or an outside candidate looking for a career at MSU? We have good news for you! On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, MSU is launching new job posting websites called Careers @ MSU. These websites will improve the applicant experience and allow the hiring process to run more smoothly.

MSU Jobs IconThere are two different sites: one for external applicants and another for internal applicants. Prospective, external applicants will visit the external careers.msu.edu website for job postings beginning on the launch date. Current MSU employees should visit the internal site via the “Careers @ MSU” tile in the EBS Portal.

The internal site displays internal-only postings, along with postings open to all applicants. The benefit to applying to a posting through the internal site is employee preference over external applicants, where applicable. It also takes into consideration seniority ranking and eligibility for support staff positions.

This position also compiles reports, schedules travel, maintains calendars, manages mail and transmissions, updates website content, and coordinates hardware and software purchases and maintenance.
