This week we are highlighting an International Student/Scholar Advisor I (posting #449036) with the Office of International Students and Scholars (International Studies and Programs). The International Student Advisor will advise J-1 international students/scholars and F-1 students on immigration, personal, academic and cross-cultural matters. The advisor serves as a part of the core team administering MSU’s Exchange Visitor Program; this includes: serving as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the J visa program and assisting with SEVIS compliance; reviewing J-1 visa applications for new or continuing Exchange Visitors; working as an overall part of a team to support international students and scholars. The advisor will interact frequently with, conduct outreach for and train MSU academic units seeking to host J-1 Exchange Visitors. Please note that U.S. Government Regulations require Alternate Responsible Officers and Designated School Officials to hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

This week we are highlighting an EEG Technologist (posting #447584) with Neurology Ophthalmology. This position consists of performing patient assessments and electroencephalograms. The technician may be asked to train in electromyograms and evoked potentials. The position is in an ambulatory setting, performing studies on both adult and pediatric populations. A successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and health care assistants in the Department of Neurology.  The technician will also be responsible for archiving studies, ordering supplies and assisting clinic with clerical work as necessary.

This position plans, coordinates and details all weddings for Spartan Hospitality Group venues, including Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center, Stadium Tower, MSU Union and Alumni Chapel; assists in developing and implementing the sales, marketing and promotional materials for the wedding markets; maintains all accounts and generates new business for the wedding market; details SMERF market/events for the Kellogg Center; negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rentals and banquet events to achieve budgeted revenues; meets assigned monthly sales quotas; assists in developing month end sales reports; and represents Spartan Hospitality Group at community and industry events. Duties associated with this position involve moderate physical effort, including moving around the building(s) to provide site tours and review event arrangements.

This week we are highlighting an Office Supervisor I (posting #444697) with the English Language Center (ELC). The successful candidate will serve as the fiscal officer and support staff supervisor for the ELC.
