The holidays are the hub of the decorating and gift giving season and what better way to find décor and gifts then at the 2013 MSU Holiday Arts and Crafts Show on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the MSU Union.
The MSU Holiday Arts and Craft show is sponsored by the University Activities Board (UAB) and is one of the largest indoor arts and crafts shows in the state. The show features a broad range of items, such as handmade soaps, candles, furniture, jewelry, home décor, children’s toys, paintings and more. The 2013 show will feature new and returning exhibitors.
“This is a great place for holiday shopping and there is no entrance fee,” said Stephanie Bierlein, assistant manager for the University Activities Office, Division of Residential and Hospitality Services. “There are a wide range of items as well as prices ranges, so you can find the perfect gift for anyone.”
The MSU Holiday Arts and Crafts Show is celebrating its 50th year. Started in 1963, the show was created as a fundraiser for UAB to support programming for students throughout the academic year.
“UAB has never received student tax dollars. So they have needed to fundraise in order to have additional money for the students to program more events,” Bierlein said.
