Quality programming can be hard to find, but thanks to WKAR at MSU there isn’t a need to look any further.

Ready to Learn at MSU
WKAR provides a variety of beneficial programming and services for people of all ages.

WKAR is part of MSU Broadcasting Services and is housed in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. It includes WKAR-TV, WKAR Radio, WKAR.org, Radio Reading Service, WKAR Ready To Learn Service and Interactive Video Services.

WKAR-TV broadcasts on channel 23 and is a Michigan Public Television station. The station produces various programs about state and local issues. It also airs programming from PBS and other sources.

WKAR-TV also broadcasts programming digitally, including WKAR World (channel 23.2) and WKAR Create (channel 23.3).

870 AM WKAR is a source of news and information. 90.5 WKAR provides classical, jazz and folk music and also broadcasts “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered” two programs from National Public Radio (NPR).

Radio Reading Service (RRS), is a 24-hour broadcast that provides useful information to individuals that have difficulty reading a printed page.
