2013 Fall Activities

Leaves are falling from the trees and the air is chilly, which means fall is here and with the new season comes a bunch of fun activities to enjoy.  Whether you want to do a family outing or take a voyage on your own, here are some activities to consider this fall season.

The Great Pumpkin Walk

The Great Pumpkin Walk is an annual event for families in downtown East Lansing. Children can trick-or-treat at more than 50 businesses in the downtown East Lansing area.

Safe Halloween

Safe Halloween takes place along M.A.C. Avenue between Burcham and Elizabeth streets. Sponsored by the sororities and fraternities at MSU, the event provides children with a safe environment for trick-or-treating.

Lansing Turkeyman Trot

The Lansing Turkeyman Trot is a scenic 5K through the streets of downtown Lansing.

Visit a Cider Mill

Cider mills throughout Michigan offer the opportunity to indulge in donuts, apple cider and other enjoyable activities. Visit mills such as Uncle John’s Cider Mill or The Country Mill.  A list of cider mills in Michigan can be found at http://michigancidermills.net/.

Spartan Spectacular

This fall season enjoy the sounds of the Michigan State University Wind Symphony, the Symphony Band and Jazz Octet I, jazz vocalist Sunny Wilkinson and percussionist Gwendolyn Burgett Thrasher. The grand finale will feature the Spartan Marching Band. Spartan Spectacular takes place at the Wharton Center.

Pumpkin Decorating Day

Decorate a pumpkin to take home and show off your artistic talents at one of the Capital Area District Libraries in downtown Lansing.
