Come one, come all to the MSU Broad Art Museum!

This weekend marks the grand opening of Michigan State University’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.

The museum will be dedicated on Saturday, November 10, and registered guests can attend the dedication ceremony and enjoy previews of the museum’s art galleries.

On Sunday, November 11, the museum will be open to the public and will host an all-day open house with free events. The festivities start at 10 a.m. with a showing on the museums process from conception to completion. Attendees also can enjoy an architectural tour discussing the building concepts and features of the museum, and meet with Broad staff and others to discuss the formation and future of the museum.

The Broad Art Museum’s open house also will include art-making activities, a pop-up museum store with Broad art souvenirs, a family-friendly concert, and artist Fritz Haeg will speak about “Domestic Integrities.”

The Eat at State On-The-Go food truck will be located adjacent to the museum and tent from 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.

The celebration will conclude with a live concert by !!! (pronounced “chk chk chk”).

The grand opening of the Broad Art Museum will affect the traffic and bus routes beginning November 5. Detailed detour information can be found here.
