Upcoming Smoking Cessation Program Orientation

Quitting smoking is one of the hardest health behaviors to change. But it is also one of the best health decisions you can make.

Thereā€™s an orientation session for the next cycle of the MSU Smoking Cessation Program on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in room 247 of Olin Health Center. The orientation session allows attendees to learn about the program and get all their questions answered. No commitment is required on the enrolleeā€™s part until after the orientation is complete, and then it’s up to them! To register for the orientation, employees or their adult, benefits-eligible family members should call 517-353-2596 or send an email to Health4U@msu.edu.U Can Quit logo

Detailed information about the program is available at http://health4u.msu.edu/msusmokingcessation.htm.

Enrollees in the 2012 MSU Smoking Cessation Program have more treatment options available than in the past. They can quit smoking with the help of ChantixĀ® or ZybanĀ® (Buproprion) or no medication at all. Health4U has one of most successful smoking cessation programs in the country as measured by a 15-month cessation rate of over 38%. Most programs claim 15-20% success at six months after quitting.

If you are thinking about quitting smoking, consider attending the September 19 orientation session! You also can encourage your colleagues or benefits-eligible family members to attend.

No pressure. Confidential. You can stop smoking…the MSU Smoking Cessation Program can help!
