This week’s job of the week is a Landscape Coordinator (posting# 513054) in the Landscape Services Department of Infrastructure Planning and Facilitates. This position is seeking an individual to make daily decisions for budgeting, planning, and execution of tree management for the campus, as well as to provide supervision, leadership, and coordination of Arborist crews.
Responsibilities for this role include determining vendors through MSU bidding, effectively communicating, and conducting equipment and tool safety training. Other responsibilities include interviewing future employees, training, and hiring, participating in the MSU snow removal plan and participating in football barricades and clean up in an emergency.
The ideal candidate would possess knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in arboriculture, horticulture or landscape architecture, Urban Forestry, and/or Landscape Horticulture Maintenance; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervising and leading arborist maintenance crews, pesticide application, and plant identification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
