A Credit or Debit Card Equals Parking Success with New Parking Meters on MSU’s Campus

Parking at a meter without any loose change can be a nightmare, but new parking meters across campus are changing the way MSU faculty, staff and students are parking.

New parking meters on campus mean more ways to pay for MSU faculty, staff and students.

During the summer MSU police conducted a three-month trial run of solar powered parking meters that accept credit and debit cards in addition to cash and coins. Since then the meters have been placed in various areas around campus, such as the Dairy Store, the Union and Owen Hall.

The meter installation is now complete with a total of 600 new meters in operation. The meters accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Cards in addition to cash and coins.Continue Reading… A Credit or Debit Card Equals Parking Success with New Parking Meters on MSU’s Campus

2013 Campus Flu Clinics

Dropping temperatures and shorter days means flu season will soon be among us and preparation for the foreboding season is vital. The University Physician’s Office will be offering flu clinics at various campus locations in October and November. Flu vaccines administered at the flu clinics will be subsidized by Human Resources for MSU faculty, staff and retirees and will be offered at a cost of $10. The vaccine cost for non-MSU employees and students will be $30.

Reminder: Update Your Printed Materials with Your New Campus Address!

There have been several changes at MSU over the past year, including the creation of street addresses for buildings across campus. The campus addressing project at MSU was officially completed in 2012. The project converted building addresses to street addresses and addresses were assigned across campus to green-light phones, parking lots, etc.

Forwarding services with the United States Postal Service (USPS)  allow 18 months for address corrections to be finished. That time is soon coming to an end. All materials such as envelopes, business cards, letterhead, etc., should include the new address for your building. To look up the new address for a building, visit http://campusaddresses.msu.edu/.Continue Reading… Reminder: Update Your Printed Materials with Your New Campus Address!

Serving as the eyes and ears of a campus community is what the MSU Police does. But reporting suspicious activity to keep MSU’s campus safe and comfortable for everyone is what you can do. The MSU Police encourages anyone on campus to report any suspicious activity or crimes they notice through their See Something, Say Something program.

The program started by the MSU Police three years ago is part of a national campaign by the same name. The national See Something, Say Something campaign is overseen by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and “emphasizes the importance of reporting suspicious activity to the proper state and local law enforcement authorities,” according to the campaign’s website.Continue Reading… See Something, Say Something Program at MSU
