This position is seeking an individual who will provide opportunities for faculty and staff to more successfully meet their work/education and family responsibilities, and will make the recruitment and retention for faculty and staff more competitive. The Life Span & Family Services Coordinator will provide administrative and program coordination for child and family care assistance programs. Responsibilities for this role include conceptualization, development, implementations and administrations of the university-wide work/life programs and activities.

The ideal candidate would possess knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree in Human Resources, Public Administrations, or Business; 1-3 years related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in program planning, coordination, and evaluations or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job of the Week 2-9-2018

This week’s job of the week is a Production Manager (#490158) with Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS).

This position is responsible for managing workflow and production processes for a highly productive, in-house creative department of designers and editors. This includes building and maintaining relationships with RHS creative customers, fielding job requests and allocating creative resources. The Production Manager will report to the Creative Services Manager but will work across the creative team and with departmental brand managers to ensure on-schedule delivery of high-quality work.

The ideal candidate would possess a four-year college degree in Graphic Arts, Marketing, Business, English, Journalism or Public Relations; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in publications production, advertising, public and media relations, writing or editing; familiarity with computer applications relating to word processing, photo-typesetting, design and page layout; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job of the Week 1/19/18

This week’s job of the week is a Management Analyst (posting #486354) with the Office of Planning and Budgets. This position is responsible for planning, directing, managing and executing the fiscal and budgetary responsibilities necessary to successfully support the range of university capital planning, implementation and operational activities and associated processes and policies. Job of the Week 1/12/18

This week’s job of the week is an Information Technologist I with MSU Human Resources (HR).

In this position, individuals will provide front-line support operations for MSU HR. The Human Resources IT Support Team is responsible for workstation setup, support, management, and decommission. The selected candidate will serve as an active member of the HRIT Support Team to improve processes and triage incoming customer requests.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field. It is also desired to have experience working with vendors; experience managing workstations in a complex environment (both Windows and iOS); knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and MS Active Directory; ability to isolate, analyze, describe, and resolve complex issues; strong reasoning and problem-solving skills; experience with software like SpiceWorks or CA service desk. Exceptional customer service values and skills, including ability to successfully resolve conflict constructively and to maintain positive relationship with executive sponsors for customer groups.

Job of the Week 1/5/18

This week’s job of the week is an OPB Assistant Budget Officer. This position is in the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs in the Office of Planning and Budgets.

The individual in this position will be an integral part of the team responsible for development and administering the university’s general fund budget, related systems and processes.  They will have significant responsibility for operating the Enterprise Budget System utilized for budget planning and development activities, raise processes, university metrics and other associated reporting.

Eligible candidates must also have knowledge in Computer Science, Programming or Information Systems; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in programming, computer systems development, design and analysis and supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. It is also beneficial to have experience in Cognos (IBM) Planning Analytics, Cognos (IBM) TM1, Cognos (IBM) BI; knowledge of relational database design and development; ability to build financial and cost models; experience/training in Cognos, and web-based architecture.

Job of the Week 12/29/17

This weeks job of the week is a Medical Billing Assistant  with the MSU Health Team in the Division of Sports Medicine.

This positions responsibilities include preparing, entering and/or identifying medical billing dates from charge documents and the practice management system to accurately prepare and submit medical claims to third party payers.

Desired qualifications include experience in multi-specialty insurance billing with an emphasis on Sports Medicine and Orthopedics; experience interacting with BCBSM, Medicare, PHP, McLaren, Commercial Insurances; CPT coding, claims rejection follow up and familiarity with payer remittance procedures and knowledge of payment posting.

Job of the Week 12/22/17

This week’s Job of the Week is a Community Director (CD) with Residence Education and Housing Services in Residential & Hospitality Services. This is a live-in position with MSU in the residence halls. CD’s hold daily work-week hours and share on-call duty responsibilities with other CD’s on campus.

Other responsibilities in this position include leadership, management, supervision, and development for a residence hall or apartment community. CD’s will also provide high level customer service and create a community that fosters academic excellence and personal growth for its residents. The CD is responsible for following the policies and procedures of Residence Education and Housing Services, Residential and Hospitality Services, and the University. The qualified individual will be responsible for a variety of administrative, operational and conference functions associated with the management of the residence hall/apartment community.

This week’s Job of the Week is a Television Production Technician with the College of Communication Arts and Sciences in the Broadcasting Services department. WKAR Public Service is seeking a passionate and skilled videographer/editor to join their award-winning creative team.

An eligible candidate will be a strong storyteller with a proven track record of making creative short form video content and visually dynamic and compelling graphics. This individual will be using video, animation and interactive software. They will also be using Adobe Creative Suite tools to create design elements. Storytelling, layouts and technical skills in cameras, lighting and audio field production gear are also part of day-to-day responsibilities in this role.

This weeks featured position is a Secretary II with the International Studies and Programs in the Canadian Studies Center.

Responsibilities typically include performing general office support duties including scheduling meetings, answering phones, responding to email inquiries, and ordering office supplies; providing logistical meeting/conference support (registration, domestic and international travel arrangements, meeting location, equipment, etc.); acting as primary point of contact for visitors; maintaining files, calendars, and databases for contacts and mailings; drafting, proofreading, and editing correspondences and reports; monitoring Web site revisions and updates; processing domestic and international travel requests, authorizations, and reimbursements; providing leadership to student employees including assigning their tasks, reviewing work, and training.

Skills in Microsoft office software, MSU Enterprise Business System (EBS) and experience with proofreading and editing is also desired. Work hours are standard 8-5. A Resume and Cover Letter are required.
