New Online Resources in elevateU!

The online learning platform elevateU has a new MSU Highlighted Program available to all MSU faculty and staff called “Building a High Performing Work Culture”. This program is filled with courses, videos, books and more to help all levels of MSU faculty and staff increase their professional and personal development. The resources cover a range of topics, with anything from dealing with workplace conflict to creating formulas in Excel.

Along with the new MSU Highlighted Program, elevateU has a new look with an updated graphic identity and homepage. Click one of the tiles on the homepage to go directly into the “Building a High Performing Work Culture” program. Tiles are grouped into categories to allow for easier access to key resources. Check out the video below to learn more about what elevateU has to offer.

Job of the Week 10/6/17

This weeks job of the week is a Neighborhood Administrative Coordinator (Level 11) with REHS.

In this position, the chosen individual willĀ provide administration, coordination, and leadership for the following specialized areas: Conferences, Service Centers, Safety and Security including keys and building access, Housing and Customer Service. They will alsoĀ train, supervise, and evaluate a team of student supervisors who oversee more than 75 student employees working at the residence hall service centers.

Eligible candidates will demonstrate skills of leadership and communication, maturity, a well-developed sense of responsibility, sensitivity to individual differences, a positive self-concept, an understanding of how to promote student learning and academic success, and an interest and enthusiasm for working with students.

This week’s highlighted position is a Student Life Assistant Director.Ā This individual will work with the Assistant Vice President on matters related to the position. These include the following and more:

  • Provide leadership as it relates to the department’s overall mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, and students regarding behavioral issues.
  • Serve on the Title IX Coordinated Response Team (TCRT).
  • Prepare periodic reports on relevant programs, services, and activities.
  • Participate on various university work teams as assigned.
  • Manage updates to the Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct policy.

This position is looking for someone who has a Masters in Student Affairs Administration, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology or Counselor Education. In addition to, five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in developing and implementing programs, policies and procedures and supervising and coordinating staff; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This week’s highlighted position is a Senior Tax Analyst with the Controllers Office. This individual will assist University Tax Manager with analyzing and compiling University tax information for reporting,Ā perform financial analysis/reviews of departmental activity to determine potential tax reporting requirements;Ā assist in identifying and interpreting newly-issued accounting/tax literature; develop and recommend University accounting/tax policies for consideration by management.

Eligible candidates will have a knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting or Finance; three to five years of progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in accounting, data analysis,Ā and tax accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in financial and cost analysis and reporting tax exempt information is also desired.

Job of the Week 9/15/17

This week we are highlighting a Unit Human Resource Coordinator. This individual will work within the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and will work closely with the director of human resources, as well as department administrators, college leadership, faculty, and staff; and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of personnel related transactions supporting the core business of multiple academic units.

A successful candidate for this position will have one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in human resources processes; working knowledge of MSU policies and procedures; and demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of projectsĀ with creative and practical problem solving skills, and sound judgment.
