RS&GIS Enhances MSU Experience

Michigan State University’s Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (RS&GIS) integrates innovative, high-quality geospatial technology services with MSU’s campus to bring you campus-related applications. These applications can enhance your MSU experience by providing resourceful and innovative approaches to exploring campus.

One of the applications offered through RS&GIS is the Walking Loops. This application provides you with many different-length paths for exploring MSU’s campus and exercising! The application highlights the locations of public art pieces on the loops for your enjoyment; it also provides emergency phone locations for your safety. In cooperation with MSU Health4U Program, RS&GIS provides downloadable PDFs of the walking loops to serve as maps for your tours around campus.Continue Reading… RS&GIS Enhances MSU Experience

Go Green and Recycle with Free Office Clean-Outs!

“Go Green,” means recycling and that’s exactly what MSU is doing with their participation in RecycleMania. RecycleMania is an eight-week competition between different universities in the United States, created to find out which college can collect and recycle the most trash and to promote waste reduction. The competition runs from Feb. 3 to March 30, 2013 and is being led at MSU by the MSU Recycling Center.

MSU’s participation in RecycleMania is one component of the college’s larger campaign for campus sustainability, which includes: clean and affordable energy, access to education and to safe food and water supplies, improved health, less work and more efficiency. The MSU Recycling Center focuses on reusing as many items as possible to reduce the amount of waste that enters landfills. Office Clean Out PosterContinue Reading… Go Green and Recycle with Free Office Clean-Outs!
