Stay out of the midday sun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., which is the strongest sunlight. Find shade if you need to be outdoors.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>2. <strong>Wear protective clothing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wearing protective clothing is another good way to protect your skin from the sun and includes items such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hats with wide four-inch brims that cover your neck, ears, eyes and scalp.<\/li>\n<li>Sunglasses with UV ray protection to prevent eye damage that may lead to cataracts.<\/li>\n<li>Loose-fitting, tightly-woven clothing that covers your arms and legs.<\/li>\n<li>Clothing made with sun protective fabric. These clothes have a special label that tells you how effective they are in protecting your skin from ultraviolet rays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. <strong>Moisturize your skin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Moisturizing your skin daily is important. Moisturizers\u00a0containing\u00a0sunscreen,<br \/>\nhyaluronic acid and ceramides are extremely beneficial for the skin.<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>Stay hydrated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Drink 32\u00a0ounces of water each day.\u00a0 Drink more if you\u2019re active.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\n5. <strong>Use sunscreen<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunscreens come in lotions, gels, creams, ointments and sprays. Use a sunscreen that has a <a title=\"MSU Healthwise Knowledgebase \" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthwise.net\/health4u\/Content\/StdDocument.aspx?DOCHWID=sts15365#sts15365-sec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sun protection factor (SPF)<\/a> \u00a0of at least 15 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Apply sunscreen to all the skin that will be exposed to the sun, including the nose, ears, neck, scalp, and lips.
