{"id":4669,"date":"2013-01-30T10:27:45","date_gmt":"2013-01-30T15:27:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sourcelive.wordpress.com\/?p=4669"},"modified":"2013-01-30T10:27:45","modified_gmt":"2013-01-30T15:27:45","slug":"february-1-is-national-wear-red-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sourcelive.hr.msu.edu\/?p=4669","title":{"rendered":"February 1 is National Wear Red Day\u00ae"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>February is American Heart Month and the tenth anniversary of the American Heart Association&#8217;s Go Red for Women campaign wants you to <a title=\"National Wear Red Day\" href=\"http:\/\/www.goredforwomen.org\/home\/get-involved\/national-wear-red-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wear red on February 1<\/a>.\u00a0 Some things to consider:*<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, and is more deadly than all forms of cancer combined.<\/li>\n<li>Heart disease causes 1 in 3 women\u2019s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every minute.<\/li>\n<li>An estimated 43 million women in the U.S. are affected by heart disease.<\/li>\n<li>Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease.<!--more--><\/li>\n<li>Since 1984, more women than men have died each year from heart disease.<\/li>\n<li>The symptoms of heart disease can be different in women and men, and are often misunderstood.<\/li>\n<li>While 1 in 31 American women dies from breast cancer each year, 1 in 3 dies of heart disease.<\/li>\n<li>Only 1 in 5 American women believe that heart disease is her greatest health threat.<\/li>\n<li>Women comprise only 24 percent of participants in all heart-related studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Go Red for Women \" href=\"http:\/\/www.goredforwomen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Go Red for Women Campaign<\/a> urges you to take part.
