This week\u2019s featured job is a Senior Purchasing Agent with the MSU Procurement team (1177931)<\/a>. If you are a person with strong negotiating skills, strategic thinking, and experience in the supply chain, this may be the job for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSU Procurement<\/a> oversees the requisition-to-purchase-order process, mitigating risk through compliance with MSU policy, state law, and federal regulations, as well as management of the university’s supplier purchasing relationships.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this position, you will advance MSU\u2019s mission of teaching and research through the successful and strategic procurement of goods and services, including high-risk or complex commodities requiring extensive knowledge and expertise. You should demonstrate strong strategy development, negotiation, teamwork, analytical, customer service, and communication skills.  This role works closely with university stakeholders and subject matter experts to obtain the best value on materials in support of research and education at MSU. Knowledge typically acquired by completing a four-year college degree in Business Administration with five to eight years of related experience in sales, purchasing, and accounting is required. An equivalent combination of both education and experience is acceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
