It also helps to\u00a0maintain\u00a0a healthy body weight and can improve mental health, quality of life and well-being\u201d (WHO, 2026). Incorporating\u00a0movement into your daily routine can help you wake up your muscles, sharpen your\u00a0focus,\u00a0and\u00a0even\u00a0boost your energy.\u00a0The\u00a0following tips and\u00a0campus\u00a0resources\u00a0are available to help.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>MSU University Health and&nbsp;Wellbeing\u2019s\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/uhw.msu.edu\/health-and-wellbeing-services\/health-promotion\/health-promotion-for-faculty-and-staff\/move-more-at-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Move More @ Work campaign<\/a>\u202fencourages \u201cSpartans to engage in physical activity and movement throughout the workday\u201d&nbsp;and they&nbsp;are&nbsp;offering&nbsp;the following activities&nbsp;for employees this summer:&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/reg.learningstream.com\/reg\/event_page.aspx?ek=0086-0031-ce3cd2a29ed9434588d7c92f0586a34d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Register for Desk Decompress:\u202f<\/a>&nbsp;Every Thursday&nbsp;from 2 to 2:15&nbsp;p.m. this summer&nbsp;through August 13. This virtual 15-minute class will stretch and strengthen your wrists, neck, spine, and shoulders, all from the comfort of your own desk!&nbsp;Movements can be&nbsp;done&nbsp;sitting or standing.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/reg.learningstream.com\/reg\/event_page.aspx?ek=0086-0031-053308E736B74C3BA5375AD842EB93DC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sign up to&nbsp;Move in The Garden:<\/a>&nbsp;Most&nbsp;Wednesdays&nbsp;this summer, a&nbsp;certified instructor will lead you through low-impact exercises and movements designed to improve flexibility, mobility, strength, and balance while enjoying the fresh air and sounds of nature during&nbsp;a&nbsp;midday garden-based movement break.&nbsp;Bringing your own mat or towel is&nbsp;advised, as some movements will be on the ground.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try out a group fitness class!&nbsp;MSU faculty and staff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/recsports.msu.edu\/memberships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">can purchase a membership<\/a>&nbsp;to access the many services provided at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/recsports.msu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSU Recreational Sports and Fitness<\/a>, including swimming, group fitness classes, and much&nbsp;more.&nbsp;New this year, check out MSU\u2019s new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/recsports.msu.edu\/facilities\/student-recreation-and-wellness-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Recreation and Wellness Center<\/a>, the largest of the four&nbsp;Recreational&nbsp;Centers&nbsp;on campus!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One of the easiest ways to add exercise to your daily routine is to attach it to an activity or habit you perform already, such as your commute to work. MSU Bikes provides support with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/msubikes.wordpress.com\/commuter-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commuter resources<\/a>&nbsp;to help you bike to work with confidence, including a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/msubikes.wordpress.com\/2019\/07\/08\/1-on-1-bike-commuter-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1-on-1 Bike Commuter Assistance service<\/a>&nbsp;which helps you find the safest, lowest-stress route to and from campus to your neighborhood. MSU Bikes also rents bikes to departments for staff to use during the work day with their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/msu-bike-service-center.shoplightspeed.com\/rentals\/department-fleet-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Department Fleet Services<\/a>. Bikes are a great way to get around campus for meetings, lunches, errands, or a nice break! Save the hassle of traffic, offer a healthy alternative for your staff breaks\/on-campus transportation, and avoid problems finding car parking by adding a bike to your department transportation fleet. If you\u2019re working remotely, find several&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/msubikes.wordpress.com\/2022\/03\/07\/riding-with-others-more-fun-safer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Greater Lansing area biking groups<\/a>&nbsp;to join instead. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/msu-bike-service-center.shoplightspeed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSU Bikes Service Center<\/a>&nbsp;also offers new and used bikes, rentals (long and short term), as well as a repair service&nbsp;\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take a walk around\u00a0campus!
