Using the correct pronouns respects each other\u2019s identity and fosters inclusivity. Pronouns are used every day to communicate with one another in and out of the workplace, and often they are assigned based on preconceived perceptions. By educating about personal pronouns, we promote understanding and celebrate everyone\u2019s intersecting identities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is International Pronouns Day?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/pronounsday.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">International Pronouns Day <\/a>seeks to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. This day raises the MSU community\u2019s awareness to be gender inclusive and reminds us of the basic human dignity of appreciating and celebrating everyone\u2019s multiple identities. As we explore the significance of this day, learn about how MSU is implementing changes to promote inclusivity to create a beneficial environment for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How can I contribute to a gender-inclusive environment?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Be mindful of all sex, social gender, or gender identities and avoid perpetuating gender stereotypes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Voluntarily share your pronouns when introducing yourself to people or during meetings.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Practice using a person\u2019s pronouns when speaking or writing about them.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You can include pronouns in your email signature or other digital communications.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gscc.msu.edu\/education\/quest.html\" target=\"_blank\">Quest: Building Capacity for LGBTQA+ Inclusion<\/a> online education program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Check out the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hr.msu.edu\/professional-development\/courses\/culture-connection-engagement\/Intro-to-gender-names-pronouns.html\" target=\"_blank\">A Guide to Names and Pronouns course<\/a> for MSU employees to learn more about practicing gender inclusivity with students and staff at MSU. \u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The MSU Gender and Sexuality Campus Center (GSCC) is here to provide you with answers to any questions you may have and with resources you may need! The center provides educational programs and resources to make MSU a more inclusive space for students, staff, and faculty.
