Your tech team says it\u2019s time to replace your computer and poof!\u00a0 One day there\u2019s a shiny new computer on your desk and everything you\u2019re used to seeing is different.\u00a0 Train.msu.edu\/lynda<\/a> to the rescue!<\/p>\n

With the University\u2019s access to Lynda.com, you can get basic or advanced training on many software programs you use every day.\u00a0 In the course Word 2010 New Features<\/strong>, you can watch a 3 minute video on the differences between Word 2007 and Word 2010.\u00a0\u00a0 Did you know you can customize the ribbon of tools at the top of your screen with the options or even Macros you use most? \u00a0\u00a0Editing images in your Word documents is easier, too.\u00a0 Word 2010 moves the image editing tools right into your document, from cropping the image to touching it up without ever leaving your document.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0 Excel 2010 New Features, <\/strong>you can compare Excel 2007 to Excel 2010.\u00a0 As with Word 2010, the tool\u00a0 \"Screenshotribbon is customizable for the features you use most.\u00a0 One of the best new features is \u201cPaste Preview\u201d where you can see how your document will look before you paste and have to \u2018undo\u2019 something that creates havoc with your documents.\u00a0 \u201cSlicers\u201d let you search and filter pivot tables so your documents look more like a web page.\u00a0 And for you math, physics and engineering folks out there, \u2018Math Equations\u2019 lets you format your data nicely.\u00a0 One of our favorites (see image) are \u2018Spark Lines\u2019, tiny little charts that fit into a cell on each line, giving a snapshot view without creating a whole new page with charts.<\/p>\n
