This position is seeking an individual with experience with typical mapping and GIS applications to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the spatial data infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The responsibilities for this role include assisting users to troubleshoot and resolve problems with spatial systems, preparing related documentation, and maintaining and validating the data integrity and accuracy of the spatial data infrastructure. Additional responsibilities for this role include participating in the development of long-range planning goals, monitoring the spatial data framework and systems, and producing, developing, and delivering map products and related documents as requested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ideal candidate would possess knowledge equivalent to\nthat which normally would be acquired by completing\na four-year degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems,\nEngineering, Business or related Information Technology field, with coursework\nin an information technology specialization related to the area of employment;\none to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive\nwork experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) including a good working\nknowledge of geographic information management and spatial data standards,\nexperience with GIS software and analysis; or an equivalent combination of\neducation and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more details on the responsibilities of this position, and to view all our current postings, visit&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (careers.msu.edu)\" href=\"http:\/\/careers.msu.edu\/cw\/en-us\/listing\/\" target=\"_blank\">careers.msu.edu<\/a>.
