Community policing is strongly emphasized through a neighborhood model to enhance the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible candidates must posses a Bachelor&#8217;s degree; Certified as a Police Officer in the state of Michigan or Certifiable as a Police Officer in the state of Michigan, subject to verification or re-verification by a Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) approved training academy, or currently enrolled in an MCOLES approved training academy and certifiable by date of hire<\/p>\n<p>Work hours are\u00a012- Hour shifts 6:00AM-6:00PM or 6:00PM-6:00AM and will rotate through the year.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Every home football game is a mandatory workday for MSU police officers; other events such as March Madness, large concerts, or any additional event determined by the police chief may require a mandatory workday for civil disorder duties.<\/p>\n<p>For more details on the responsibilities and requirements of this position, and to view all of our current postings, please visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/careers.msu.edu\/cw\/en-us\/listing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">careers.msu.edu<\/a>.
